We Believe

The Bible is God’s Word

The Bible is God’s inspired revelation to His people.  It is without error and fully trustworthy as the final authority for our lives.  God's Word shows us the greatness of God and his loving plan for us. His truth gives us hope and brings transformation to our lives (2 Timothy 3:14-16; Psalm 19:7-11; Psalm 119:105).

The One True God

Only one true and living God exists.  He is the Creator of the universe, eternally existing as three persons-The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:28; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14), each equally deserving of our worship and obedience.  He is infinite and perfect in all His attributes.

Jesus Christ is God and Savior

Jesus Christ is God and through him all things were made (John 1:1-4).  He came to earth, fully human, through the virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14; Luke 1:35), lived a sinless life (Hebrews 4:15), and then died for our sins (Galatians 3:13).  He rose from the dead and ascended to the right hand of the Father (Luke 24:6, 50-53), where he intercedes for us (1 John 2:1).

The Holy Spirit Works in Us

The Holy Spirit is God.  He convicts the people of sin (John 16:8-11); that he is the supernatural agent of regeneration; and when we trust in Christ for salvation he baptizes us into the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12-14), indwelling and sealing us until the day of redemption, guiding us into Christlikeness. (Romans 8:9; Ephesians 1:13-14).

People are God’s Treasure

God created people in His image for His glory as the crowning work of His creation (Genesis 1:26-27).  But in Adam’s sin humanity fell, inherited a sinful nature, became separated from God (Romans 3:22-23; 5:12), became totally depraved, and unable to save themselves (Ephesians 2:1-3,12).  Only by the grace of God through Jesus Christ can we experience salvation.

Salvation is by Faith Alone

Salvation is the gift of God brought to us by grace and received by faith alone in Christ alone.  When we trust in Christ we are redeemed through his blood and given new life with Christ, becoming children of God (Ephesians 1:7; 2:4-10; John 1:12-13; 3:16-18; Acts 4:12; 1 Peter 1:18-19).  Our salvation is secure in Christ forever (John 10:25-30).

The Church is God’s Plan

The Church is the bride of Christ, a spiritual body made up of all born-again believers.  Believers should gather together in local churches for: worship, prayer, fellowship, teaching, witness to the world, and the observance of the ordinances of our Lord–believers baptism and communion.(Acts 2:41-47; 20:28-32; Hebrews 10:25).

The Future is in God’s Hands

God is actively involved in our lives and our future.  He has promised the “Blessed Hope,” the personal, imminent, pre-tribulational return of our Lord Jesus Christ for us; and in his subsequent return to earth, with his saints, to establish his kingdom (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Zechariah 14:4-11; Revelation 19:11-16).  All people will be resurrected at the end, the saved to eternal life, and the unsaved to judgment and everlasting punishment (Matthew 25:41, 46; John 11:25-26; Revelation 20:5-6, 12-15).
